Welcome back to the Scale Your Small Business Podcast with your host, Jillian Flodstrom! Today, we’re talking with Jaime Diehl. She helps female entrepreneurs, professional service providers, and mompreneurs master the power of personal style to align their internal identity with the external identity. Through style development and coaching, those she works with feel more empowered, proud of their work, and confident to be visible, attract more clients and charge what they’re worth.
There is so much more to clothing than just looking good. Presumably getting dressed is the first thing you do before you leave the house. It sets the tone for the rest of the day. Dress for success certainly still rings true here. But, things have changed. That success is going to look different for every individual. It should reflect your branding and your business and the work you represent.
Be intentional about your vibes! Style impacts energy and mood–both your own and your potential clients. While it feels superficial, people will make a snap judgment if they can trust you within seconds of seeing you. So, if you’re dressed like you know what you’re talking about, look like you have it together, and exude confidence because you feel good, it’s a win.
Jaime is a big proponent of intuitive styling. You know your business better than anyone else. Take a moment and envision what your business and brand will look like in ten years, and dress for that. What outfits match the feelings you have? Once you have an idea, take to the internet.
Jaime has what she calls the “superhero costume” theory, where every individual has a “superhero costume” that empowers them to be their best selves and show up in a way that feels good for them. This outfit is authentically you and brings out the best of what you have to offer. It’s current, updated, and tells those you’re talking to that you’re worth their time. Be intentional about your vibes!
She also does digital styling, where through a series of texts, calls, and zoom sessions, she can help you find YOUR top 10 pieces of clothing that you can build from. Typically, stylists will tell you exactly what’s in, what’s not, what you need, and what you need to get rid of. But that’s different for everyone, every business, and every change. With this personal touch, Jaime is able to establish an all-star lineup of clothes you can rock with. The best part? It’s for everyone of every size.
